The League Tabulator.
An overview in the form of a user's guide.

Note :- This programme does not generate league schedules, it merely tabulates results.
Initiating, first run only.
Date File - Scores are date stamped with a week number that needs to be set.

Touch A to accept the date.
This step is skipped the next time the programme is run.

The entry point in the future will be the Main Menu.

Press 'L' to Load/Create a division.
No leagues have been created yet. Press enter to accept the highlighted 'create'.

Type in a filename and press Enter.
On pressing enter the filename changes to uppercase. Fill in the rest of the Details.


A confirmation screen appears when all details have been entered.


Press Enter to reject. Touch A to accept.

Enter a case sensitive password at the prompt.
From the main menu press L to select Load/Create again.
To create another division move the highlight with the cursor keys to create and press Enter.


To Load a division move the highlight to it and press Enter.

Enter the password.

Providing the password was correct, 'Editor' will break the bottom of the title block.


Press I to select Input Results.
The Dates File is displayed, set or confirm the week number for the results.

Press Enter to accept the date offered or enter a new week number. The input screen displays the League Title and the week number / date for the results.
The prompt is under 'Away'

Enter an away team number. Press Enter to increment the home team number or
enter 'p' to decrement it, (the list repeats if indexed beyond the number of teams).
The page which stores the result is displayed, the prompt moves to the home score.
Press Enter to return to the away team prompt, enter 'c' to check previous results
or enter the home team's score.

The cursor moves onto the away score prompt, enter the away team's score.

The away result had '/' appended which reduces the score by 25%.
After a few more results the screen looks like this:-

Enter 'c' to change the date.
The Dates File is re-displayed with the next week's date pre-selected.

Press enter to accept it.

Three weeks results have been entered, 'e' is entered at the Away prompt, the file is saved. During input the highest week number of any result is recorded as 'Current Update'.

On saving the previous 'Current Update' becomes the 'Last Update'.
The Dates File now displays cursors pointing to the 'Current' and 'Last' updates.


Handling Errors during Results Input.

A game has been entered whose result will go into page 2, a bit too early, so 'c' is entered.
The top of the screen shows the games played for those teams.

Check the card, Ok the game should have been 3 v 9. Press Enter to quit.

Enter 'p' twice to get back to home team 3
.... and continue inputting results.


If there is no space for the game an error message appears.
The first game below is entered twice to force the situation.
Attempting to enter it a third time invokes the error warning.


And again a check made to sort out the problem. Here page 2 is selected for clearing.
Back on track.


(A further few weeks results are put in here for this demonstration).
In the course of a season things go wrong:
Postponements, games played early, cards with teams reversed and cards from other leagues.
If the Rink Scheduler set up these leagues it can export a fixture list
to this tabulator providing the programme resides in the same folder.

To reconcile games go to the Utility Menu, (Main Menu, press Enter).


Selecting 'M' and entering at the prompt any withdrawn team numbers for exclusion,
the imported league program is read and attempts made to reconcile games.


Anomalies are searched out by eliminating games played according to the league program.
Unscheduled games are listed after 'Played'.
Outstanding games or future games identified from 'Played' are listed after 'Scheduled'.
Following 'Adjusting' are attempts to reconcile played games,
If a possible match is found the game is eliminated and the reason displayed.
The remainder are missing or unscheduled games.
The league secretary can now check the identified anomalies and correct them.
Looking at the results, 9-2 is obviously a reversed card.
1-2 brought forward from w20, check the card, OK game was brought forward.
7-8 brought forward from w26, check the card, ?!*&, it's from another league. Error correcting
From the Utilities Menu press 'R'.


Enter one of the home team numbers to correct.
Games for that team are displayed.


Enter E to edit.
Enter the Away Team Number


The Dates File and games between the two teams are displayed.
Enter the Page number to Alter.


In this case enter 'c' to Clear the result.


Confirm or reject, displays the adjusted team games with a sub menu.


Selected 'e', chose home team 2, away team 9, page 1 and entering week 9.


Put the score in.


Display updated results.


Confirm or reject.


Correcting the other errors in the same way and running the missed games utility yields:-

Ok, a lot cleaner. While we are in Utilities, lets look at the other options.

First a more pleasing colour, press S for Screen Colours under Global.

The test screen lets you view your changes - Accept, reject or redo it.

Back to the Utilities Menu now displayed in favourite colours.
Further Editing Utilities:-

Press D for Division Name.


Utilities: Team Name, press T.

Press Enter to return to the Menu.

Utilities: Update dates, Press L for Last, C for Current.

Enter the new week number.
These affect the default week for results input and the printed table (demonstrated later).
Utilities: Add memory, press A.
(In case not enough pages were reserved when constructing the division).

The effect, another home and away game each can be added.

Utilities: Erase, old files can be overwritten or erased. Press 'e' for erase.

The response must be ' y '.

Utilities: Format new date file, press ' f '
Touch 'c' to change and enter the new date at the prompt.

New Date is redisplayed.

Touch 'a' to accept it.

Final Utility, Press G to obtain a grid of results.

It also runs through the missed games routine. The Grid is soft printed to the Output.htm file. Grid

OK back to the Main Menu now to finish by printing out our league table.

Nice colours? you can always change them to suit your mood.

From the Main Menu press ' t ', the table is calculated and partially published.
An offer is made to append the table with a short message and/or the list of missed games.

Press Enter for the file to be soft printed to the Output.htm file.

Notice the large number of updating games?
The updating games are those played after the last update to the current update
and gives teams a chance to check their recent scores were entered correctly.
Use Utilities Change Last Update's Date

Now it publishes just the last two weeks.


And the table is written as an HTML file for printing:-

Double click the shortcut. Sub folders are created on first run, outputs will be in the folders.
